Google Hopes Open Source Will Give Its Cloud A Path To The Enterprise
“Google is not an enterprise company and we are trying to become cognizant of what the enterprise needs,” Craig McLuckie, Google’s product manager in charge of its Kubernetes and Google Container Engine projects, acknowledged during a panel discussion at the OpenStack Foundation’s annual Silicon Valley event today.It’s no secret that Google has been trying to get more enterprises onto its cloud platform. It’s not been easy, however. The company lacks the traditional sales machinery of its competitors (and the legacy relationships that companies like Microsoft have built for decades).
