Default Difference between SEO,SEM and SMO?

Search engine optimization & search engine marketing both the terms actually refer to two different parts of the same marketing scheme.SEM is a much broader term than SEO, and actually includes SEO as one of its techniques. SEM is all that a company can do to advertise itself on a search engine, including paid inclusion and other ads.

SEO include not only offsite optimisation, but first of all it include onsite optimization, which is the basic and the most important part.
SEM is relatively more broader term as compare to SMO and SEO. SEM includes all the techniques of internet marketing related to search engines and also includes
SMO - Social Media Optimization, promoting your Services or Products on Social Media Sites for being more popular about yourself marked as Social Media Optimization.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) SEO aims to increase traffic and brand information through whole search, not by paid promotions.
SEM (Search Engine Marketing) SEM works by placing Paid Ads on Google, Bing, and Yahoo with particular keywords and it is also known as non-organic search.
SMO (Social Media Optimization) It is similar to SEO as in this we can generate publicity by increasing the awareness of brand, product, or event on social media outlets.

SEM-In it,we pay for our ad so that it may show within the special sections of the page reserved for advertisements on search engines. And also SEO content is more permanent than SEM.
SMO-SMO is the analysis and strategy creation of what platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) are and/or should be used and how they are being used for paid marketing.
