Two URLs to a site -- one that is prefaced with www and one that is not (for instance, http://www.example.com/ and http://example.com/) -- often point to the same location on a server. But depending on the server configuration, they may point to different locations, so search engines can't assume they are the same.

I am of the opinion that you should adopt only either www or without www in internal link structure as well as inbound links to your site. As for search engine they are two URL

Yes, i am agree that we should adopt only one choice of www or without it. But i have one consfusion here that if our website is listed in DMOZ without "WWW" Prefix, then in that condition, what should we do as we know that DMOZ has a lot of value
